Bobby Dodd Institute and J & B Medical Supply Partnership Expansion

Blossoming partnership causes job growth and success.

 

December 7, 2017 (ATLANTA, GA) – Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) has expanded its call center for J & B Medical Supply and has relocated operations to a larger space in College Park, Ga. BDI operates a 53-agent call center for J&B Medical Supply, one of the fastest growing and most successful medical distribution companies in the world. 

BDI will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its third metro Atlanta location on February 2, 2018.   

J & B Medical Supply, a family-owned company based in Wixom, Michigan, outsources operation of part of its large customer service call center to BDI.  Since engaging BDI in 2015, the call center partnership with J&B has grown from employing one part-time individual to creating 57 jobs for veterans and people with disabilities and disadvantages.

“A lot of people talk about financial capital or intellectual capital, but human capital is an absolutely critical pillar to building a world-class company. BDI has identified and trained people of the highest character and integrity to work with us, and that has allowed us to spend more time and energy growing our business,” said Stephen Shaya, M.D., EVP of J & B Medical Supply.

Dr. Shaya believes outsourcing J & B’s call center staffing and operations to BDI is a win-win – it allows his company to focus on its core competencies, while also creating good jobs for veterans. The jobs J & B created by partnering with BDI have doors to new career paths for many veterans and people with disabilities seeking to enter the civilian workforce.

BDI was recognized on both the national level by SourceAmerica and the state level by American Legion, Georgia Department, for its work in providing employment, career counseling, job training, and job connections services to veterans. BDI was presented the 2016 Performance Excellence in Hiring Veterans with Disabilities Award on May 3, 2017 at SourceAmerica’s national conference in New Orleans. American Legion, Georgia Department recognized BDI with the Award to Enhance the Lives of Disabled, and the award will be formally presented June 17, 2017.

BDI offers job training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and disadvantages.  Its social enterprises include call center operations, as well as facilities maintenance (janitorial and landscaping), warehousing and logistics, mailroom operations, and staffing services. Companies that hire BDI gain a business partner dedicated to customer service while also creating good jobs for veterans and people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
